I transferred ~200-250 superworms from a small square container to this 6qt container last night. I noticed that there are some that aren't moving with just their heads poking through the substrate as shown here. There are some that aren't moving either. Are they sleeping or something? I'm using progecko gutload and carrots for moisture. Room temp is 79/80.

Looks like several of them are eating, just positioned from below. The only thing I would suggest is that you may have too many carrots in there, if the worms cannot eat them all, some of them may begin to mold (hasn't been long enough yet). The worms move alot but at some times they do stay still.

Hows your guy doin? Glad your happy with him! ;)

Too many carrots! They just need a few smaller pieces at a time. A container of cut up carrots will keep for a long time in the fridge with a bit of water in the bottom. Too any veggies in the worm bin can ruin your bedding with mold.

Ohh okay, just a false alarm then! He's doing fine, just sleeping at the moment haha. Wakes up at around 11ish and crawls around until I sleep, then I don't know when he stops and goes to sleep. ^_^

those worms were from my batch in may so they should have 3+ months left at least. Just don't put a lid on the container because they need to have good air circulation. I use the 3 drawer stackable pull out containers to store them in myself. I've never lost a batch using those with 1-2 inches of wheat bran in there for them, and that was for up to 3K per container.

Okie doke, took out most of the carrots except for 1 big piece and 2 small pieces, and put it in the corner of my room with the lid off!
