Superworms

I have a juvenile and was wondering if I should be feeding him superworms every now and then with his crickets. He ate one today and, being paranoid about the "superworm myth", I chopped the heads off the superworms. If it is indeed ok to feed them superworms, how long should I leave them in the dish with their heads cut off before they decay/go bad?

I have fed superworms to juvi leopard geckos when they (the gecko not the superworm) are as small as 11 grams. I've found them very useful the the occasional hatchling that can't seem to get the hang of eating mealworms from the dish and can't quite catch the crickets. I don't remove the heads, but I'd assume that since they wouldn't move too much, they'll probably not get eaten unless they get eaten right away when they're still reflexively squirming around. Most of my adult leos primarily eat superworms.

Ok, so if he doesnt eat them right away, should I just take them out? Yeah, one of these superworms flailed around a few times about 6 hours after I severed its head. Weird.

EDIT: He just woke up from a nap and ate the two remaining superworms. He's been eating very well for only having him for two days!
