Hi guys,

Got my very first egg couple of weeks ago, and am incubating it now.:D

However, when I checked, I noticed that is looks mouldy, and has a collapsed top shell. :(

I thought that mouldy is too wet, but collapsed shell is too dry. :main_huh:

Please advice. Thanks!!

Can't really tell if it is pink or yellow ... no smell so far.

I think you guys are right. The female was bought from another fellow, and she lay the egg only about 2 week of introducing my male. I thought that it was funny that the time to lay the egg was so short.

I think that the egg must have been from the end of season of the previous owner ... which is why the egg was not fertile.

Makes sense.

Thanks guys!!!

You can candle the egg or just take a q-tip and wipe the mold away. I would leave it for a little while longer to see, I wouldn't be too concerned about the dent if your mix is right but the mold is but it will also start to rot if its no good and you should be able to smell it.

2 weeks sounds about right to lay the first clutch from the time of breeding. Both my females this season have followed this pattern.
