We have switched most of our geckos over to pheonix worms. Our young Patty has a problem keeping them down. He has gotten them twice so far and thrown them up alive both times. He was eating meal worms and wax worms of the same size before with no problems. What would make him toss the pheonix worms back up?

he might just not like them. I would put her back on mealies if she will eat those. Mine would eat pheonix worms for a while and then all of a sudden they just refused them. I wouldnt get them used to just one feeder either. You never know when you will not be able to get them and its always nice to have a back up kwim?

Pheonix Worms are good on calcium but low on fat. Mealworms have more fat so will fatten them up more. I had one gecko that loved the pheonix worms but I was noticing that she was slower to fatten up. I looked up the comparison chart and realized that the pheonix worms were low on fat. I would go back to mealworms or if they are big enough you can give them small supers.

Yeah. I am going to continue the jungle Mack snow rescue with them since she is not in great shape yet and refuses anything dusted. I believe I will take the advice and go back to old feeding habits though I'd like to keep my female adults on a 50/50 crickets to pheonix.

Pheonix are good to use just not as a staple. My adults and even my bigger juvi's love superworms and they are good to use as a staple and are less of a mess then crickets lol
