Avatar issues,

i think i have had enough of banging my head against the wall,
i would still like to use a custom avatar,
but I don't understand why when i save a jpeg compressed to fit within the limits of size, it shows as being still too large.

I also used PSHOP's 'save for web' feature with no luck,

every single file is too large or fails during upload, any tips are greatly appreciated.

I see people using what i think are HUGE avatars, and i just don't get it.
I don't see how they can possible work.

ok, well i now see that it appears my avatar has worked, even though is said 'upload failed', forget my last question, request for help...lol
