Excavator Hides? IS this a good idea?

So Loki only has a 10 gallon at the moment, and honestly its crowded. On his warm side he has a butter container hide and a small half log, and on the cool side his moist hide and water dish. PLus adding a calcium dish. IDK. I just dont like the crowded look to it. So i was thinking buying 20lbs of reptile excavator clay and building something like this, but removable.

I really like that tank. (minus the sand)

I was planning on not having a bottom to it, so the uth can still heat it, and have removable tops on the moist hide and can lift the whole thing out of the cage. And have "windows" by the glass so we can see in also.

I would build it out of the cage on tin foil or something of that nature and let it dry to that rock hard form so i can still keep reptile carpet i have now.

Is this a good idea? Is this worth the $20?

Heres another idea i like with the balloons.

From what I've heard about Excavator, it crumbles over time if you let it get too dry. In other words, it's long lasting, but not permanent. I'm not sure you'd be able to make a section of it hard enough to be removable. That's why I went with making sealed foam and grout structures in order to make pieces that can be moved and removed.

I think if you removed things made with Excavator it would crumble. You can moisten it slightly to reshape it again, but that's not practical for every day use if you want easy access.

I haven't used this product yet myself, just relaying what I've heard others say. Hope it helps.
