Gooey stuff stuck in 6 year old female's "girl parts"

Today my daughter said that her 6 year old female leopard gecko had gooey stuff coming out of her butt. I was able to get a photo, zooming in shows there's some blood and her rectal area is a little purple. Her substrate is not sand - it's the reptile carpet.

Any idea from this photo what this could be? Is this normal - maybe just before she lays an egg? She has laid a few in the past, but we never saw this before.

Sometimes a bit of the white urates or poop doesn't quite get out of the vent. Sort of like when a human doesn't "wipe" too well. You can just use your fingernails and pull it out.
