Hatchling Setup

Can i put my hatchlings in shoe boxes on a wooden shelf will the heat tape burn it?
ot should i use a metal shelf?

If you are using a thermostat or rheostat to regulate the tape(and you should) then it won't be an issue.

My heat tape runs at exactly 100 F directly on the tape providing about a 90 F warm side
