What is better concerning feeding Leos mealworms.... Live or freeze dried?

Always live.

I find it to be more natural and geckos hunting crickets have to hunt their food. Good and natural form of exercise imo.

Most geckos like live, moving things, though not all. Guennivere and Mallory will both eat dead mealies (not the nasty black dead, but fresh dead), dead pupa, dead beetles, etc.... though there's no real way to tell when a pupa or alien or whatever it is, is dead unless it's necrotizing, but they may as well be while they're alive as they're motionless. Either way, I'd still stay away from freeze dried because I'm pretty sure they're not so much freeze dried as they are chemically embalmed and then dried. It would follow they may contain chemicals that may not be in the gecko's best interest. If there's nothing else on hand, you can try it and they may eat if they're hungry enough, but I'd try to stick with live insects. They eat best when they can see moving prey.
