Opinions on feeding pinkies?

I've seen a couple videos on YouTube of people feeding Leo's pinkies, and after reading some info on other sites a lot of people say it won't hurt them as long as the pinkies are small enough but not as a regular feed because they're not very nutritious. What are some opinions on this matter?

I have fed a couple f/t to females during breeding season (1 per season), but the majority of my geckos won't even look at them. They have no interest. They are high in fat, so it is really only recommended as a once in a great while thing usually for breeding females. But many people don't recommend using them at all. I find that my geckos can put weight back on nicely with regular feeders and a couple waxworms.
