Questions about heat rope/heat cable

Hey all!
My belly heat rack decided to die on me. It's been a long time coming I guess, but I was hoping I had a little more time before having to replace it. Currently there is 3" flexwatt heat tape lining the bottom of each shelf. Rather than take the whole thing apart and run new flexwatt through it, I thought I might give heat cable/rope a try.
I can't seem to find any information on how much heat it gives off. Can it be used to heat my gecko racks or is it just supplemental? The reptile room stays at around 80 degrees, so it wouldn't have to work too hard to get the hot side to where it needs to be. Does it need to be regulated by thermostat or is it like a heat mat that you can just plug in to the wall?

Currently looking at this:

Does this look good or is there something better out there? Thanks for any advice or info! :D
