Red Heat Lamp or Under Tank Heater

I just recently purchased my first leopard gecko and in terms of lighting/heating I have a red heat lamp, and a regular daylight lamp. Some people suggest using an under tank heater over a red heat lamp. Which is more beneficial for the leopard gecko?

Since you already have the leopard gecko in your possession you should go to the pet store and purchase the uth that is the appropriate size for your tank. They have the recommended tank sizes on the labels of each uth.

These really are things that should have been researched and ready prior to purchasing a living being that depends on you for proper care. Sorry if that sounds harsh, just my opinion.

Get a zoo-med UTH Needs to cover 1/3 of the bottom of tank.
