Currently I use a dimmer switch to regulate my temperatures on my rack. It can keep relatively stable temps on each shelf, however there is variation as you go down the rack(vertically). For an example, my rack is roughly four feet tall and the temp on the top shelf reaches 95 but my bottom shelf won't go above 80. So my question is if I was to switch over to a proportional thermostat (herpstat, helix, Johnson etc.) would it be able to hold more constant temperatures through out the rack vertically or would I need multiple thermostats? I also understand the whole concept of heat rises, but is there anyway to keep stable temps vertically with one device(dimmer, rheostat, thermostat) ?
Thanks!
