Hi

I've read where proportional thermostats are the best to use for your racks. If you have 6-7 levels,do you need a thremostat at each level

no but you need to place to probe at the top where it is hottest (normally, hot air rises) and we usually get one of those indoor outdoor thermometers and use the probe part on it to make sure the temps are holding correct

yes, thats why you try to keep the animals between 90-95, generally the difference on 7 levels is 2-3 degress but these are on our AP racks and they keep good steady temps

so u would only need the proportional thermostat, and hook that up to the heat tape cord.correct ?

Yes you would need a single prop thermostat, the heat tape, and a digital thermometer with a probe to monitor temps with.

If I have 7 levels of three tubs per level. If each level is say 3 feet wide Then I would have 7 seperate lenghts of heat tape 3 feet long.Wouldn't I need 7 thermostats to regulate each level? i'm confused
