I recently just got a 20g long tank for Devin. I want to buy the ultratherm heat pad for her new tank but I was wondering if it will heat the tiles probably or not? The tiles are 1/4th thick. Also what size heat pad do you think would be appropriate for her new tank?

Usually people will tell you the UTH has to cover 1/3 of the tank. I use tile with a UTH and it distributes heat very well.:main_thumbsup:

Tile is the preferred flooring for underfloor heating for homes. It is meant to transfer and hold heat well. Remember to use a nonporous tile or cleanup will be problematic

I use tile myself to and it's great. I use heat cable and with my thermostat it may fluctuate a few degrees but heats up nicely. Though I do notice their hides on the tile stay a few degrees warmer. lol (works for me and them) Easy to clean too.
