What is the best light?

I have a common house gecko (hemidactylus frenatus) and it's primarily nocturnal with its' activity. As such, what is the best light - color, etc. - to view it in the dark with no external lights on?

Welcome to GF. In the future, please check that you are posting in the correct sub-forum. I'll move this post to "other geckos". In my opinion, the best light is to just turn on the light in the room. Other people would probably recommend a blue "night light" which you can find in most pet stores.

I agree with Aliza. Most of the more nocturnal species do best with just normal room lighting/window light. You can use heat tape/pads if you need to increase temps.
