Is a boaphile (48x24x11) okay for geckoes?

I'm just worried about lighting(despite them being nocturnal) and air ventilation in the cage? I've been opening the cage every day for about 5-10 min, then again when I feed them at night.

Sounds like a gecko mansion! Depending on what type of Boaphile enclosure you are referring to, many would not be appropriate for under-tank heating since thick plastic is not a good heat conductor. Don't worry about lighting as long as the geckos can tell whether it's night or day.

I've layered the spot with the heat watt so it gets to be about 80 degrees on the surface rather than extremeeeely hot.

Leopard geckos need a hot spot of around 90-94 degrees (belly surface temp). 80 degrees is not sufficient for their digestion, metabolism, and immune system to function properly.
