I've always had an affinity for all animals but I picked up my passion from working at a pet store that provided inadequate care for the reptile "product" they "stocked". I spent many hours in the back of the store nursing sick and neglected reptiles- from breeders or pets that were turned in. It was a sad, thankless job but in the process discovered that I'd gotten quite good at bringing back animals from the brink of death and I helped to pass on knowledge of their proper care and requirements to customers and staff. My pets are for life. I currently have an almost 1 year old Bearded Dragon named Angelo who is special needs as he is partially (mostly) blind, has nerve damage and is missing most of his digits. He is hand fed and adored by everyone he meets. I also have one Leopard Gecko that I've named Tesla. She was given to me in absolutely appalling condition and is recovering beautifully. She is supposedly 8 years old and is warming up to people. Due to a vitamin A defficiency and years of neglect she had infection and skin layered on her eyes that has severly damaged her eyesight but she is coping well. My coldblooded kiddos live with me, 2 chihuahuas and a barn full of horses on a ranch in Southern California. We're living the good life.
