I had a liver transpant and just want to warn you. The next year well be worse then ever. The medications well be hard on her and make her behave different. Stick with it be there and the wonderful years well come. So glad she was able to get a transplant and things are looking good.

Betta's need some heat. If you are keeping the room warm enough that is stays at about 72 - 78 then a betta if fine. But if it goes lower then that then you might want some white cloud mountain minnows. They do fine in cooler temps.

Goldfish should not be kept with tropical fish. They have different requirements. Food, temp and even space. Poor betta would bounce all over. Cause two fancy goldfish need 20 gallon and 200 gph. That is a pretty strong current for a small betta.

OH almost forgot. After the tank is set up and very settled like 3 to 6 months you could try otos. Cute little fish. You can keep 5 or 6 with one male betta. I have yet to have much luck with them but I keep trying.

Oh no don't do the clown loaches or pleco both get huge and need large tanks. You need fish that well stay small. You can keep other fish with a betta. Like the pygmy cory cats. BTW if you get female betta you can keep about 6. I have 4 in my 20 gallon. Yes they do nip at each other but...

Get a betta and some pygmy cory cats. Would look great. Not a lot you can put in a 10 gallon. Also don't forget to cycle the tank first or you well be in for a lot of heart ache. Good Luck

I would like to add that some of the breeders that are breeding now need to be more selective and maybe start culling. I know many think that is mean but better then living a sad life and dying in a painful way.

I so wanted an iguana. But once I started reading on them and found I would have to convert my spare room into a living space just for one. Sort of changed my mine real fast. People just don't get how much space they need. They for some reason think they stay cute and little.
