Easier way to go
Het to het will give 25% albino 50% het and 25% normal. The normals and hets look alike.
The easier option to know what your second generation of babies will be is to hatch females this year and breed back to the father next year, instead of het to het. Doing this only has 2...
At the risk of more back pedaling
As the OP just let me clarify.... I'd like to know if anyone has seen evidence of changes in their (or other) leopards that could be evidence of a larger scale of changes than just coloration.
I just think that it's interesting that there are collections...
Sorry
Sorry Paul if my reply seemed snippy. The thread that I cut from got locked because this tangerine obsession wouldn't die. ( And for the record I do agree that Tangerine is a line bred trait.)
I'd like to keep this thread on the idea of genetic effects in lines and morphs. I'd like to...
Thanks Gregg
THANKS FOR YOUR INPUT. You've stated this ad nauseum and it has nothing to do with this thread. Drop your personal issue, please.
I guess the next hot button would be the enigma affliction. Too much tinkering with the machine? This is great, I'll be at shows the next two...
With the Tangelos...I have no idea. BUT, I'm leaning towards the possibility that some line-bred traits may become so "strong" over generations that they begin to appear to act co-dominant...or in fact, become somewhat "co-dominant"...if that makes sense.

As a guess I'm going to say that it depends on whether the leopards are "native" to SA or have been shipped over the equator! That puts us back at just watching the female for signs of ovulation. After all they can't read a calender
I have a pair of BB that (knock wood) are just as handleable as any of my other leopards. They only get handled for their weekly weighing and the occasional "dang what a great looking gecko!" so I don't feel they are any more used to it than the others. This kind of behavior vs. morph...
At the Crossroads
Yeah you've got an issue for sure! If you're going to sell babies to the local pet store then you have a breeder group. My guys don't care about the morph because they are all leopards to them. This is where most "possible hets" are destined for. Proving out is (possibly) a...
You think you've got it bad, This will be my first breeding season in 4 years. I'd give just about anything to see one of the females ready! Then the first egg, the first hatch...... well that just made it worse!:D
From a male point of view........... I blew coffee all over the monitor! Great way to wake up!
I'm going with "try try again". When mother nature tells her it's time to breed any male will do.:main_thumbsup:
