I've have the high temps too. Thankfully, the rain has cooled it off to about the 90 mark, but now the humidity is insufferable. Yesterday (and all weekend) I've been trying to have a yard sale. Instead of getting up this morning, I slept for 10 hours because I was out in it all day yesterday...
I don't know. He seems pretty settled. I didn't get a chance to bother him the first two weeks besides feeding. He likes his two hides. The heat tape stays around 90-95. Next feeding, I'll try f/t again, but I'm not going to expect much. At least I have a voracious spotted python that will eat...
I broke down and bought a live mouse. It was smaller than I would have liked him to eat, but Jude the Mojave snapped it up like thanksgiving dinner. I guess I just might have a live eater on my hands. Maybe I'll try transitioning him another time.
I lost my baby corn snake back on June 3rd. I set him up in a rack that was new to me and didn't realize he could get out of it. I still haven't sen any sign of him. He's somewhere around 8 or 9 months old and still was eating pinkies when he escaped. I'm starting to think he's just gone. If he...
Oh, man do I know. Usually I can go back and read a line of posts and logically conclude what was misconstrued, but this? I still can't wrap my mind around it.
Actually, because I offered my help, I got a message today from the sight admin asking if I wanted to be their spam defense admin. So that makes me happy.
I understand that the internet is full of angry people, but I guess I've been spoiled by the helpful nature of this forum. I really do...
This is following my Thank you thread in the "all other OT posts" thread as a juxtaposition.
I'm thinking about leaving a local reptile group because of issues. The drama, OMG the drama. I asked publicly (on a facebook) if I could be a mod to help control the spam on their forums and I can't...
I want to send a shout out to all the members and mods of Geckoforums. Thank you all for providing an environment where we can come and have friendly debates and intellectually stimulating conversations that don't generally degrade to the garbage I see elsewhere on the internet. Not once have I...
I use chopsticks to make the rat wiggle. Also to keep my fingers away from strike range. What's funny is that last night, he decided to investigate the chop sticks instead of the rat. He was obviously interested in the smell coming from the sticks and the rat, but just not enough to go for it.
I brought home a '10 Mojave male on June 4th. He ate for me on 6-7 and 6-14 on a f/t rat pup. He has refused food since then. I tries removing him from his cage like I did originally. I tried letting him take it from his cage, like I hear a lot of people have success with. Last night I tried...
Very cute. Also hilarious.
I should check to see if my area has any herp society meetings. I know the Windy City Reptiles does random things revolving around the bi-monthly all animal expo.
