My female leopard gecko has always been a great eater she’s always super excited to eat and always wants food 2 weeks ago she started sticking her nose up to the mealworms and a few super worms I usually feed her so then I got Dubai’s to see if she’d like that instead but she still won’t eat, I...
Since he is so young he is probably just scared. He is most likely out and about when you are sleeping. Your diet seems good maybe your gecko would like some small superworms(as treats) or some Dubai’s for some variety b cause some geckos get sick of being fed the same thing, as for the MBD I...
A good place to shop for pet supplies is Amazon for the heat mat and thermostat they have the best pricing and chewy has a very wide selection of decor and hides, 20 gallon longs are super easy to find on facebook market place for $20 or during petcos $1 per tank sale they have throughout the...
My crestie will not eat any bugs if I try to feed them to him so I leave meal worm pupates in his food dish so he can eat them and not run the risk of getting bit by them.
What a cutie! It could be because he is in a new environment I would wait it out a month to see if he/she settles down plus it’s a baby so that’s probably why it’s more skiddish the best thing you can do now is to just stick your hand in the tank everyday for like 10 minutes and let him smell...
The best way to tell is to look at the size of the tail and see if you can feel bones when you pick it up. Age is a part of the factoring when seeing if it is underweight if they are under a year. If the tail is very thin compared to the body then it is underweight.
You might want to remove the heat lamp all together. Leo’s get heat from their stomach so a heating pad with a thermometer to regulate it is most commonly used. And heat lamps have been known to dry out their skin because of the light.
Make sure you have a heating pad in there with a thermostat to control the temperature and you should definitely thing about upgrading to a 20 gallon long in the future. I keep my 3 year old Leo in a 40 gallon and I personally feel it’s the best size and allows me to fit a bunch of hides in there.
Leopard gecko on YouTube makes amazing videos if you want to get as much info as possible, I’ve learned so much from her and continue to better improve my Leo’s set up and overall care so that she can thrive as much as possible
This is not normal behavior, it could be because she is with another Leo and is uncomfortable they are solitary animals. You should try separating them and seeing if that helps
He could possibly be going through brumation you could try not offering any food for a week and then see if he will take something. Make sure he is worm enough(I suggest using a deep heat projector to keep the inside of the tank work during those cod nights).
