    New to arboreal gecko’s

I had a chance about 12 years ago to buy one for 100$. I really regret not buying that one now. I’m deeply considering skipping the gargoyle gecko for a leachie, buy once cry once. I’m a little surprised to read they can be feisty about handling. Is that true in your experience?

    best substrate for leo?

I don’t have that large of a enclosure for my Leo. I prefer paper towels, very simple to change out and very little chance of ingestion. I use small rocks to keep the edges flat (not gravel) . I also use peat moss for the humid hide.

Thank you. That was a very thoughtful and well written response. I am very jealous of your leachie.

    Need help, plugged vent

If you do remove it manually soak or bath him in warm water first and then remove it while it’s moist to reduce trauma/harm .

I’m considering a gargoyle, I’m looking for more clarity on feeding. Do you need to buy the premade mixes ? Can you use crix and mashed fruit or baby food ? Do I need to use spring or distilled water ? Appreciate the insight.

Suggestions on holding your leopard gecko?

I do the crane maneuver myself. I just scoop her up and put her on my shoulder for a ride.

    Morph identification!

Hard to tell. I'm not a expert here by any extent. Looks like a premolt carrot tail. Maybe post again after a shed.

    My new little guy

I had a unhealthy one pass as well. Thought I was rescuing it. Ended up just passing regardless. Got this one the next day, a much better experience having a gecko thriving and eating. I like yours, looks like a tangerine. Idk what mine is some sort of albino.

    Young skinny gecko.

He is eating crickets (with some coaxing) I also places a new heat pad that is adjustable so a bit warmer. Starting to see some fat on his tail.

    Young skinny gecko.

Or.. it only wants crickets and would rather starve than eat anything else. Eyeroll

Sick leopard gecko, closed eyes not eating

I'm not a expert. I would separate them for a bit, laying eggs takes alot out of the animal. Make sure she is dusting the food with cal and d3 supplements. Pictures?
