You mean this: http://www.t-rexproducts.com/products/vivarium-foam-systems/peek-view-burrow/? It's meant to be used with a substrate. You put the burrow against the front of your tank and then fill the tank with substrate up to the level of the burrow. Only problem is, most people recommend...
Would it be safe to use a matte finish spray clearcoat? The styrofoam will be coated with grout so it won't melt. If I allow adequate curing time for the clearcoat would there be any fumes or chemicals present that could harm my geckos? Is sealing the grout even necessary?
Thanks. It's just an old point and shoot on macro mode. A Nikon Coolpix 4800 I believe. I can't wait until I get a new camera. I'm thinking a Canon EOS XSi should get some much nicer pics.
The tank has just been relocated and I added an aloe vera plant as well. Actually, I put the plant in the tank because the cat would have destroyed it otherwise. I've capped the potting soil with some river rocks so that the girls can't swallow any of the soil by accident.
Yes, the UTH can warp an acrylic tank. I have an acrylic aquarium and the top warped just from the heat of a single fluorescent light fixture that was sitting on top.
Also, a lot of UTH's specifically state on the box that they are meant to be used with glass terrariums only. I have seen one or...
Does the tank hold water? If so, take it outside and put it somewhere level. Dump a gallon of vinegar into the tank and top off the rest of the way with water. Let it sit for a day or two before trying the razor again. Then dump the water and rinse it really well. That should get rid of most...
Thanks for the advice. I've thrown them all out and am now bleaching everything. I'll start a new colony and this time will only feed them carrots, not potato.
OK, did a little more reading here and it seems like I have grain mites. I guess I will have to ditch everything and start over. That sucks because I had finally gotten my mealworm population to the point where my geckos weren't eating them faster than they reproduced.
Questions:
1. are they...
First I had a problem with fruit flies in my meal worm tank (a 10G w/ screen top). Seems they like the pototoes and carrots I put in there. Last night I noticed that there were very tiny white bugs crawling all over the glass and the screen top. There must have been dozens if not hundreds of...
I have 3 female yearlings in my tank. I feed them mealworms every night and they usually eat about 12. Question is, how do I make sure they are all eating? I can't really sit there all night and watch them. Is approx. 4 worms each per day enough for them?
