The red and green plant is a Fittonia, the green and white vine is Ivy, and the tall silver-green plant is a Sansevieria. They should all be safe, but the Fittonia will probably get stomped to death.

There are definitely regional issues with all the carriers. Where I'm at FedEx is a disaster, UPS is pretty good, and USPS is stellar. Look hard enough and you will find issues with every service, which is why packing is so important. Pack your animals correctly and they can survive just about...

I've had better results overall with USPS over the others. Never had a box lost on a mail truck on a summer day in Fort Worth... ;)

That would be my guess, USPS Express is usually 1/3-1/2 the price of FedEx or UPS overnight. I do the vast majority of my shipping through them, but always use their service commitment tool to verify that they guarantee overnight service to your destination. Some areas are only guaranteed 2 day...
