Is a postal scale that has a 0.2 oz. sensitivity alright for working with leos? I checked an online calculator and 0.2 oz = about 6 grams.. Is that sensitive enough? This scale type does weigh in grams btw.. But I was confused about the sensitivity. Never bought this type of scale before..

Thanks,

Actually I just looked at another ad for a scale (ebay) that said it had 0.2 oz / 10 gram sensitivity... Thought 0.2 was closer to 6 grams..not really sure! Anyway, could someone tell me if that's what I'd want?

Thanks very much!

I don't think 10 gram sensitivity is accurate enough. Say you have a 45 gram female and you want to breed her, the scale might read 55 and you would think she's good to go. 10 grams is a pretty big difference in leos.

I would get a more sensitive one, 10 grams is like 20-30 pounds in us

Hmm, okay, so something more sensitive... like "0.1 oz / 1 gram graduation"? ... says that on another type I'm looking at...

You can get cheap good scales at ebay. Search for "digital scales" and you should get hundreds of em'. Best ones I have found so far are ones that can weigh in 0.1g and go up to 500g but 250g is fine too. Prolly cost you about $15-20 after shipping. If the plate you weigh on looks too small you can use a cd case on top and tare it then add gecko.

Thanks for the tips and advice! I ended up swinging a little more money to get a My Weigh 1300 from Reptile Basics and I'm already loving it! Highly recommend. Someone here suggested this scale, not sure who...thank you!!!! Great scale.
