I have never heard of 'vionate'! All I do is keep my mealies in a tub with oat, bran and calcium subtrate with carrots for moisture. Some people use potatoes slices. At gecko feeding time I put the mealies in a dish with calcium. Nothing fancy and for sure no rocket science(lol). Here's a picture's from today after sifting beetles and worms out:

What a nasty mess Cooter, man you need to do some serious overhaul on all of that diabolical way of feeding and mass overrun of beetles in your mealie bin that you seem to have going on!

As for Vionate, I use it as a gutload and in the bottom of the mealie dish with some carrot slices as needed and cali or mineral or reptivite on top, changing the later often.

A dumb question is one that is never asked. Although I have no experience vionate, I leave calcium in a cap in my reptile bins.

Beetle over run?(lol) No just sifted two containers into one so that any eggs or baby worms could grow up. Once the baby worms get bigger I separate them until there are none left in a subtrate. All in all I have 3 containers one for beetles, one for mix mealies and one for eggs babies. The only mealie problem I have is my uncle wants a colony now for his zebra finches (lol) took some over for a treat and they went nuts.
