1 week hunger strike.

Hey everyone.

My leo hasent eaten for 1 week, he is still defecating but very small samples sometimes its only the white part, he appears to be drinking water and his tail is still fat body weight appears the same.

He also just had a succesfull shed, his appetite from the start has been awesome eating about 8 mealworms a night.

Btw he is about 1 year old i got him from deathco as a baby.

His conditions hasent changed i.e his enclosure is the same, same temp all that.

Please help me.

well since the weather is getting cool now geckos are eating less since winter is approaching. What are the weather conditions where you live? also make sure his temps are accurate, so check with a digital thermometer and make sure its around 89-95, but that is only a possibility just make sure he doesn't get skinny.

I am in north florida and the temprature has gotten alot cooler out of nowhere so you could be right about this, btw im using a probe thermometer it ranges on the hot side about 90-95 and the room temp where he is outside the tank is 78-80 dont know if that is relevent.

Your temps are fine, and as long as he isn't losing weight, or losing weight drastically, he should be fine.

A week isn't an issue, just a seasonal slowdown this time of year.

okay this is good news, so i assume i should keep offerring food?, or do leos not eat at all during the winter?

Keep offering food. You can leave the worms in there overnight in a dish to see if any get eaten.

He might still want a snack.
