Yes, you can put carrots in there now. It'll take another month (or more?) before the worms are at the right size. 180 beetles?? You should end up with tens of thousands of worms!

the more the merrier!!! :main_laugh: :main_thumbsup: we are now up to 223 beetles... with about 200+ in the pupae stage of life... sounds like we may not have to buy mealies again for a while... wich is what we were shooting for!! 5 bucks for 100 of em just got out of control... now im stoked!!! :main_yes:

Wow

Wow ... I would say that you should be.

I have just started raising mealworms.

I bought 500 from a Bird Supply Company and was surprised by how small they were.

So I have a container set up where I am letting them eat to their hearts content. Then, I have another container where I will put the beetles in when they come.

I do not need 280 beetles though cause I only have two Geckos but, I would be happy with 50.

Any more than that I am going to go feed the ducks.:main_yes:

if they get too out of hand im 99% sure i can make a deal with our local pet store guy... *not a chain*, it will help him out... and us... probally reduce the cricket and superworm bill... maybe even get some fishie stuff too... :D:D:D

i ordered 1000 mealies from nyworms.com cause i was just flat out sick of paying 5+ bucks for 100 mealies... it only cost us 18 dollars to have 1000 shipped... then to top it off we got just over 1500 mealies for the price of 1000... yes we had to count :D lol... so we said what the heck, lets just spilt them in half and see what happens... and here we are! when they started pupateing it was nothing... nothing... then BAMM! 30+ a day... and even still its nothing to pull out 20 or better pupaes in a day... then the pupae did nothing... and now we are gettin the wrath of the beetles!! again nothing to pull out 20+ beetles in a day... my wife pulled out 30+ today! this seems pretty effortless... hopefully a good investment! :D
