Hi, I thought I would introduce myself! My name is amber and we are getting our first Leo in Aug. I am a part of a Nation wide Reptile Rescue, and this will not our first reptile. Right now we have 2 bearded dragons. Our first dragon Lincoln came from a family who decided they didn't have time for him anymore, he was generally healthy when we got him and adjusted well. He is going to be our pet forever. Our 2nd, his name is Ruby, (thought he was a girl for a month now my son won't let me change his name) is a rescue I found on CL he was completely emancipated and dehydrated when I picked him up. He is gaining weight and adjusting to a life of love. I am still debating if I want to re-home him he is really growing on me!
I have been thinking about getting a gecko for sometime now. We have an expo coming up and I decided to get one there. I emailed every Leo breeder attending, I asked about a million questions and I already decided who I am going to buy from. They are awesome with my questions and seem so caring for the animal. I keep looking on their site and there is one I just love so who knows if I get everything for the set up sooner than later, I may just get the one I keep looking at. She is almost 1year, and is a Tangerine. I am terrible with morphs so that is the only thing I remember about her morph.
My son is really excited, I told him the Leo could be "his" and he has to take good care of it....now before any one gets all "what the heck a kid is going to be taken care of it?" Nope not in this case, he is 6 and I will be the provider and have him help me. He already loooooooooves turning on the dragons lights and making salad. Sometimes he does these things without me asking, and I don't even expect him to! :main_thumbsup:
I am excited to get our new little family member. I know I want a female and I am already thinking about names!! lol :main_cool3: I have been pulling out all my resources and asking all the Leo people I know for opinions and advice, and I am hoping this site will be another go to resource for me!!!
