We just got 2 new baby leopard geckos. The breeder believes both are female and we named them violet and shadow. Violet is growing and her tail is getting bigger. She is very healthy and weve had them for about 2 weeks now. Shadow however, only ate for a few days when we first got him and then wasnt eating at all. So, we went out and got them some mealworms (they were eating crickets before). Violet ate them with no problem but within 2 hours I came back to check on them and Shadow regurgitated all 4 mealworms I gave him earlier right in front of me. Then we thought that since they are only around 6 weeks old the mealworms outer shell made it to hard for the little guy to digest. So, we went out again and got more crickets. She was already much skinner than violet and his tail is as thin as a tiny twig. She ate a few crickets that night and we were very happy that he didnt regurgitate them, but in the morning when I went to clean their cage, I thought he had a ton of poops but really he had regurgitated all of the crickets he ate. We then took her to the vet and on the ride their she regurgitated her shedded skin that she ate. The vet put her on baytril and told us to seperate the two of them in case shadow has some kind of parasite. He also thought she might have an impaction so we gave her a 5 minitute warm bath making sure her body was submerged and her head was above the water. That night we fed her some baytril and she threw that up within 10 minutes. The next day we gave her some chicken baby food with water in it and she managed to hold 2 drops of that down. She had 2 poops that night so we knew she wasnt impacted. Yesterday we gave her some chicken baby food in a dish and she didnt eat any so we put a small cricket in with her over night. In the morning it was still there. She is completely not interested in eating anything and I fear that if she doesnt eat something soon she may die. Does anyone know what this could be or of a good reptile vet in Halifax Nova Scotia?
