Well, i went to my local pet store last week, to get food for my girlfriends hamster, and to get some turtle and fish food. When i was there, i noticed on the counter "2 free geckos call (number)" So i was like hey, i'll give em a call to see what the deal is. I called and the number was disconnected. I talked to the person working, who was the owner of this small pet store. The older woman said that the lady had 2 leopard geckos in a 20 gallon critter keeper, and they were her daughters, but she had left them with her when she went to college. The mother was fed up with having to go to the pet store weekly and get crickets.

So i told the owner, my phone number, and i told her that the next time that the woman comes in for crickets, to tell her that i'll take them. This was her responce, and i quote " Aww, you're so nice, you know, that lady said that she'd only come in for crickets one more time before she was going to let them go in the woods behind her house."

Yeah, exactly what i said, WOW. So i got the call this morning, and i went and got just them, because i need to make room for the 20 gallon that's included :) there was about 30 piles of feces in onew corner of the tank, they were living on sand, BUT there was 4 hides. Unfortunetaly there was no UTH and all she had was a Infared night time lamp...

So here are some pics, they're pretty friendly geckos. A little bigger then my female, probably by a few months. here's the pictures.

That one is the male, above. I'm almost 99% sure, just because he has almost like, an orange dot in the middle of every pore, and they stand out a lot more then my female, and here is my new female.

She's deffinitely a little smaller, and her tail tip must have came off, you can tell. She's also a little more shy then the male.

let me know what you think of the 2, and also what morphs you think they may be.

For the neglect they've come from they don't look too bad. A little fattening up & they'll be healthy critters. Congrats on the freebies. I leave the morphing to the pros.

Thanks :) Yeah, the lady at the pet store said she fed them a ton of crickets and they ate them all.

The big male's deffinitely a pig, already ate about 20 mealworms.

Nice leos. I'd say a normal and super hypo tangerine carrot tail baldy.

Yeah i was thinking that my big male is a normal, allthough the front of his head is white, and most of his tail is white, with no orange anywhere, and very faint yellow.

The first one is an easy call ... Normal for sure.

Pretty hard to tell on the second one, since the color varies so much between the two images. At the VERY least super hypo carrot tail baldy, possible tangerine.

Good Luck with the two! :main_thumbsup:

They dont even look that old... what are they, like 35 grams each?
Why would someone get them, keep them for a couple months, then leave them with someone who doesnt know a thing about them?

Good thing you were at the right place at the right time!

eh i think they're decently old, i've had my leopard baby since he was 3 weeks, and it's been like, 4 or 5 months, and he's about 7 inches now, the big male is 8 inches, no idea how much they weigh, i'll get my digi in the mail soon.

leos can live for 20 years, so I doubt they are very old. They look like malnurished young adults. At their lengths they should be 50 grams at least. And by the size of their tails and their bodies, I can tell that they are no where near that.

normal/high yellow..

SHTCTB..

feed them well because they look slightly underweight.. If the fecal buildup was that bad I'd go ahead and get a fecal done to check for a parasites just to be safe..

fecal contaminated food or water accounts for the majority of parasites..

good luck and you did a good thing and probably saved those Leos lives..

Well i did actualy go to the vet today, with samples from them and my turtles, just to make sure eveything is okay. All of my geckos are fine, no parasites, as far as i know, but my vet said it's possible that they could have some they may just not be in that particular peice of, poop.

As far as eating goes, the big normal male devoured a ton of mealworms, and last night i watched the female eat A LOT of them as well, all of wich were coated with Rep-Cal calcium, and Leopard Gecko dust by T-rex and also Nekton-Rep Supplement.

Thanks for all the help guys, it'll be a lot easier to determin the weight gain when i get my digital scale in.
