I really want to get a new gecko, and I have 1 leo already, got her from petsmart about 1 year ago. Not to sure how old she is but she is about 9". I have a pretty small cage and i need a new one. I want to get a new female snow leo. Will they get along? Also, how big of a tank should I get, so I would never need to get another tank for them again. Please say gallons and inches:D. If I do get a snow, not sure how old it will be.

Thanks,

IMO is best to stick with one leo and learn the best you can and make sure that one is living in the best conditions. If you can afford to take them to the vet, give them their own space and provide good foods than you are ready for another one if you wish. For me they do best housed alone, no bullying over areas or problems. When you put all the furniture in there is not a whole lot of space left. All my leos are housed alone in 40 gallons and above and I see the diffrence it makes.

My tank is 24"x12" and my gecko is 9" and about 1 year old, (no clue how old she is got her from petsmart on Sept. 25, 2010) so is it a good size for her and how long can I keep this tank?

Everyone has a diffrent opinion. MY thought is the bigger the better and I have seen it with my own eyes. You can wait for others to answer. The bigger the tank the more options they have.

20 gallon long IMO is the smallest you should have for a pair.. Its always best to house separate but if you wanna house 2, get a 20 gal long

Don't forget to quarantine all new animals for minimun of 30 days to prevent the spread of diseases( especially if ur getting a geckofrom a pet store some are prone with diseases). After tht If you stil wnt to keep them together thenthe minimum size for. A tank. Would be a 20 long(30x12x12) but I would go bigger to. Prevent them from fighting but they should be around the same size. If not then one would get bullied or worse..

If that is all your willing to give the gecko for the rest of it's life, then I guess that will have to do. Don't get me wrong they will live, but nobody knows that answer but your gecko who unfortunately cannot talk:) When I first started 15 years ago I housed them in 20 gallons and they will show signs of stress, like climbing glass Ect. Now in big enclosures they walk around happy, head up high and are so much healthier.

I would give him the biggest enclosure possible, I too have seen a difference in my geckos that are housed in bigger enclosures. I switched all of my geckos from the 28 qt tubs to the 41 qts and they seem so much happier
