Well i think i'f finally figured out what to get at the show this month, wanting to make sure i'm right, i have 2 female raptors at the moment, if i get a snow male, and use it next year i'll get snows het raptor and normals het raptor, if i breed them together will i get some super snow raptors? or just more snow raptors and then will have to breed them back togeter the next year?

Ya if you breed snow het raptor x snow het raptor, there's a small chance you get super snow raptors- percentage chance is 1.5625% or (1/64). You can also expect Super Snow Trempers, Super Snow Eclipses, Super Snows, Snow Raptors, Snow Trempers, Snow Eclipses, Snows, Raptors, Trempers, Eclipses, Normals.

would that be a good way to go or should i go snow to snow first, get the supers, then breed the supers to get hets, then breed back to get the super snow raptors or super raptors as they call, which would be a more logical reason? i wanted to get into enigmas this year but i doubt i'll get one in my price range.

Mack Snow Het RAPTOR x Mack Snow Het RAPTOR =
14.335% Normals 66% Pos. Het RAPTOR
4.6875% Eclipses 66% Pos. Het RAPTOR
4.6875% Tremper Albinos 66% Pos. Het RAPTOR
1.5625% RAPTORs
28.125% Mack Snows 66% Pos. Het RAPTOR
9.375% Mack Snow Tremper Albinos 66% Pos. Het RAPTOR
9.375% Mack Snow Eclipses 66% Pos. Het RAPTOR
3.125% Mack Snow RAPTORs
14.335% Super Snows 66% Pos. Het RAPTOR
4.6875% Super Snow Tremper Albinos 66% Pos. Het RAPTOR
4.6875% Super Snow Eclipses 66% Pos. Het RAPTOR
1.5625% Super Snow RAPTORs

Unless I did the math wrong... Enjoy!

I would take your snow het raptors and breed them back to your raptors to get snow raptors then take the snow raptors and breed them to each other to get super raptors that way you know that the offspring are in fact super raptors without ever having to test breed because both parents were homozygous for the eclipse gene and therefore all the offspring are as well.

Ya, I agree with crotaphytidae- but you can do both. If you have both males and females, then I suggest you breed a male snow het raptor to the raptor females and a few additional snow het raptor females. So that way you will get the snow raptors at a higher percentage (12.5% to 3.125%) and still play the lotto with the hets. Fun project because you will have a lot of variety in the offspring.

ok then i'll have to get some more incubators as both my raptors here that i have are female that were bred to a raptor male from the breeder i got them from, but if the one female lays duds again this week or next, if i can get a nice snow or even snow he raptor, but i'm not gonna cross my fingers for a super snow het raptor within my price range hehe, anywho what i was saying is they're both females so i'd either have to bet on 2 odd,s of getting super snows, and that they'd be male, or set up 2 incubators and just do all from that ones clutch as males.

No, the females should lay at least 6 eggs- as that's pretty low for a female anyway (depending on her age) and if you incubate at mid-range 83-87 you can expect both males and females. You can do this or just have two incubators running, one for males and one for females.

Also, I have started a project where the female was bred to a given male and then switch them successfully to another male. It took a couple lays, but I assume her storage went dry and picked up the other males sperm. Good luck with everything.

yah what i was saying though is if i breed her to a snow later, odds are she could have 50% snows but if inc at 85 still could be all snows could be female, (those would be my type of luck hehe). so if i do this project i'd just wnt to make a bunch of males that way i'd lknow that i'd have some males that were snow het raptor, and rest would be normal het raptor i suppose. cause again my luck if i was to split up the eggs the ones i'd put in the female inc would be the snows.

I would just incubate everything female to be honest... it really depends if your just trying to make Mack RAPTORs or Super RAPTORs.

if i was to incubate eveything females, i will have a huge colony of all females and no males :p

Well if you bred your pair and used your original male(Mack Het RAPTOR) to these possible hets(your chances for success would be very high, but again you would be stuck with a ton of possible hets)

Are you talking about the second generation? The Original Male from the beginning of this post is just a Mack.

That's why I suggested incubating the offspring for both males and females. Then taking a Male Mack het Raptor and breeding it to the original Female Raptors and some of the Female Mack het Raptor offspring.

yah i go off in about 10000000 directions sometimes sorry guys hehe, i'm gonna shoot for a snow het raptor male, they shouldn't be too exp, since theyr'e fairly common and easy to make :D heck i may even get a breeding pair of snow het raptors and just cut corners LOL.

Or you could buy a Mack Snow Tremper or Super Snow Tremper Albino male and cross them to your RAPTORs and make Mack Trempers het Eclipse to and hit the Albino(RAPTOR) genetics quicker.

now ther'es a thought, and it'll leave it open to eclipse things later as well, what do they usually run? what can i expect to see them priced at a show i mean

so wouldn't they just be mack trempers het raptor? i dont know i'm confused about eclipse and raptor i know they come from the same genes, just if it's not an alibino and it's got black eyes it's the eclipse and if it's albino with snake or red eyes i'ts raptor.
