Hey there,
I'm new to this site so i don't know if i'm posting this in the correct place.
I am a worrier!
I brought my first baby leopard gecko from a reptile store last week, he/she is around 3 months old.
I've done a lot of research on looking after it and where to buy it from, but i cant help to worry.
I feel he/she is rather skinny, but i don't know if that's just because his a baby. his very alert at night, loves climbing this exo terra rock wall. I haven't handled him a lot, ( apart from getting him in and out of the tank, and rescuing him from the back of the rock wall when he got himself stuck) his still rather skittish but is calming down a lot.
His tank is 45x45x45 cm
i use a heat mat/stat which fluctuates between 90f-92f
cool side temp is around 10f less
humidity is around 45%
he has a cave in his warm side
a coconut hide in the cool side ( which he uses as a private toilet)
a moist hide in his cool side.
he has bark which i made a hide out of in his cool side also which he loves to climb over.
Then he has:
water bowl
calcium bowl
and meal worm bowl which contains fresh mini meal worms for him.
the lady in the pet store says he eats crickets, but he doesn't seem interested in them.
I got him tuesday 6th august and since then his only eaten
7 mini meal worms
1 cricket
1 wax worm.
all food is gut loaded & dusted.
is this normal because his still settling in?
im thinking of getting him some phoenix/calci worms has anyone tried them before?
Any reassurance or advice will much appreciated.
sorry for the long message, i just want him to be healthy.
thanks
Stacey
