3 weeks gravid, no eggs.. strange activities

Hi everyone!

Well, I decided to breed one of my females this season. She was basically "offering" herself to one male I was originally housing her with, but I separated them for awhile. About a month later, I put her with a male a few times and witnessed them mating between January 30th and February 2nd, I believe.

Since then, my female has grown very fat, but she was always a little chubby. And I think I see eggs, but she was a little fatty (as I said before) and even sometimes caused me to question if she had eggs months BEFORE I had chosen to breed her.. so I don't know if I can trust my eyes.

Last week, she started digging in her moist hide for three days. Suddenly, she has stopped digging for about a week. She had stopped eating while she was digging, but now she's eating again. She's still fat, but I weighed her and she weighs 1g more than when bred her, so I don't know if that's normal or not. Visibly, she is bigger.

The only thing that bothers me about this process, is that she almost acts like she's not gravid any more, but she's slower and more "tired" looking than she used to be. Where she used to be inquisitive and quick, she's now slow and almost in a stupor.

I don't know if this should matter, but she's housed with 2 other females who sometimes like to jump in the same moist hide with her. There's two hides, but they all prefer the one she was digging in. It's about double the size of the other moist hide.

Is she tired of sharing space with the other ladies? Should I be worried about egg-binding? Is it normal for gravid females to stop "acting gravid" all of a sudden? How long should I wait for eggs to be worried? These are the things I worry to myself. :inquisitive:

can you get a pic of her belly by holding her rear end up by the tail? I would say seperate her so she has a stress free enviroment to lay. She may be having difficulty to getting relaxed enought to lay.

Just keep giving her calcium and vitamins and wait for about another week, some of my friends females still have their eggs after 3 weeks and usually little a little after 3 weeks. Also, eggs are really visible especially at 3 weeks look in the sticky with the gravid leo.

Okay, it's been another week, and I *finally* got some pics. For some reason, the other ladies are rarely spending any time in the moist hide with Casino anymore. But I decided to try separating them today, so I'll let you guys know if that helps. Anyway, we're looking at about 4 weeks gravid now, if I'm even right. Am I? Does she look gravid to you?

looks gravid to me. Only thing about moving her to a different enclosure is that it'll cause some stress, why not separating the other ones out of the enclosure you had her in and just leave her there since she used to it. Also how many grams was she before and how old is she?

This is what I suggested a week ago.

That's right, she did. I appreciate the "repeat" advice, but I didn't say I was moving her. I definitely moved the other females. And I didn't move them at first, because they suddenly stopped using that hide, but I decided to do it now.

Also, to answer the other question, she was 55 grams at breeding and she's 2 1/2 years old. :D Does everyone else agree she looks gravid, then?
