Do i really need a humid hide if my gecko doesn't seem to have any shedding problems?
or would it be okay if i only put the humid hide when she is getting ready to lay eggs?

A humid hide is a must. Your gecko may not have any problems shedding right now but that doesn't mean she won't later down the road. They are cheap to make or free if you have a small glad container.

When mine are not in shed I don't keep it as moist and I do sometimes let them go dry for a day or 2 but when they are shedding I make sure it is nice and moist until the shed is gone.

thats exactly what I do, I use moss as a substrate in my humid hide. My poor leo.. when I first got himhe was already missing 2 toes because the pet store didn't have a hide for him... :(

I always keep a humid hide in my enclosures and I always check my geckos just to make sure they didn't miss any shed. For some reason most of my geckos only like their humid hides. They sit in them all day and play all night.

I keep humid hides in every enclosure at all times and mist them every day (paper towels dry quick). Seemingly all of my geckos use them every day.
