7 yr old gecko needs new home, needs vet

This is one of two Geckos I've had for 7 years now, and though I love him I've decided his best hope is for a new home. I'm a graduating college student (Saturday) and I'm about dead broke, I cannot afford vet bills or trust me he would've been there by now.

Story is I lent this guy out to my Aunt who had 2 or 3 females (wanted him to get a little 'action' for once in his life). She had him for roughly a year with no issues, she fed him mainly wax-worms. Well towards the end her geckos started having issues, 2 passed on her for unknown reasons, then finally her last most robust went down.

Well she gave me mine back in December, he was gigantic at the time, maybe even over-weight as far as gecko standards. Apparently he hadn't been eating for a month, I was concerned about gut impaction but it appeared he was defecating still so I started feeling re-assured. Considering his weight and it was winter (her house temperature is cold in winter) I thought maybe he was just fat/hibernating. In any case I tried every couple of weeks to feed him with different foods (crickets, wax worms, meal worms) and it didn't appear he would eat, if he did it was small amounts when I wasn't watching...

Anyhow fast forward to about a month, I came back after one weekend (I travel to San Diego over the weekends sometimes) and the end of his tail almost looked like it had been squished (was red and flat). I figured maybe one of my cousins kids (live with my Aunt up at school) might have accidentally dropped one of his hide spot caves on it.

Well fast forward to recently, the shiveled part of his tail has advanced a little bit farther down his tail. And last night I checked on him and he was limping significantly on his front right arm, he was basically walking on his knuckle.

Well over the night it increasingly turned red, I could tell he lost circulation. Today it's shriveled and darker, he's lost it for sure . This was all over the course of one night. He also appears to have developed a red spot on his head similar in color to his arm/tail... somethings really screwed with him (blood disease?). It also appears he has some form of mouth rot (he keeps dragging his mouth in the dirt/against rough objects like it itches).

He's not emaciated yet, he's low on energy but surprisingly alert. I think he's still got a chance to be saved, but you never know with reptiles.

In any case I love him, and I've got no $$$ so please if someone in So-Cal wants a 7 year old gecko he's free, his cage etc come with him. Just PM me or send me an e-mail.

In the meantime has anyone seen anything like this?

(sorry for the blurry pics I suck at photography)

I am so sorry to hear about your guy but I would say that the best thing to do for him now is to have him euthanized as he is suffering and he would be out of pain if you do this,Good Luck.

well he actually doesn't seem to be in pain (at least from his arm anyways) but ya euthanization has crossed my mind. Does anyone remember the cost of one the last time they had to?
