ok right now im experimenting with 2 different humid hides. My first one is using a half log, and putting moist paper towel underneath it above the uth. My second one is using a sherbet container (like a butter bucket, only bigger) and putting ESU Reptile Terranium Moss= http://www.petco.com/Shop/petco_Product_Nav_260_sku_848344_R_1184_enemerch_1.aspx?cm_re=260-_-TopSellers1-_-848344 in it w/ a hole for them to get in, and also above the uth. I have Reptile Carpet for the substrate. Which one do you suggest or think works better? and also, im not sure about this, but does the hide have to be humid enough to see moisture (for my log, its put up against the glass, and sometimes i can see the dew on it), or is that too humid?

I think the moss is ok I've never used it, I use peatmoss and papertowels. I sometimes see the moisture build up and it is possible for your hides to get to moist, I've heard it can cause infections.

I say misting 1 time a day should do you good, even every 2 days would be ok as well to avoid them getting sick.

The moss-in-bucket would be my choice, although I would just get sphagnum moss from a garden store or Home Depot even. I don't like using wood anything in my cages, especially as a humid hide. It's too difficult to adequately disinfect wood, and keeping it damp just encourages bacteria to grow that much quicker.
