A few final questions

I have a few final questions before I begin the breeding process:

I know that a female can lay up to 16 clutches per season, but what is the normal. Correct me if I am wrong, are clutches usually consisting of 2 eggs normally? If so, how many eggs should I expect from breeding one female a season? (I have read about 30ish, I will not have that many though because I will have all first time breeders.)

What do you think the minimum weight for a hatchling should be before is it sold, pending your answer, how long should that take with a good diet?

How do you determine the selling prices for your geckos?

Is a ten gallon tank with an UTH large enough to be a breeder tank that will temperately house 1 male and one female?

I think thats it lol Thanks everyone!

It is very unusual for a female to lay 16 clutches per year. I would say an average would be more like 6-8 clutches of 2 eggs.

A 10-gal tank is not big enough for 2 adult leopard geckos... it's barely enough for a single gecko.

Although many wholesalers sell geckos at about 1-2 weeks of age, I would say a minimum weight of 10 grams, which is about 1 month old.

Market research. I check what other breeders are selling similar morphs for. Keep in mind that more established breeders can demand more money for their geckos.

^^ Thanks Marcia, you are an infinite bowl of knowledge! lol Your posts are always the first ones I read.

If a 10 gallon is not enough, how is a 32qt. sweater box? I believe they are the same surface area as a 20 gallon.

A 32 quart Sterilite is 287 sq. in.
A 15/20H aquarium is 282 sq. in.
A 20L aquarium is 354 sq. in.
