Well, we got a call today from a lady that wants us to adopt her leopard gecko. From what she says it's a Tang of some sort, adult, eating crickets and mealies just fine.... we shall see.... Any who, her reason for calling us to adopt it is this "It sleeps all day and I want a pet that doesn't sleep during the day." When Matt told me that I thought "I bet she didn't do any research on it...and I bet it's on sand...." lol. I don't know why the sand thing popped into my head...but it did. :main_rolleyes: She's dropping "him" off to us on Friday. We are very wary about getting this gecko and will QT it and it will never be a breeder.

The wierd thing is she got our phone number from pet**....are they allowed to do that? Since we have adopted a leo from petc** they can automatically give our phone number out to random people who want to give up their animals because they "sleep too much"?

Ugg....just ranting, but I thought it was an interesting thing to tell people....

Having worked at PetSm***, another big box store, I can tell you that it is against store/company policy to give out phone #s (employee or customer) without consent. We can't even tell customers an employee's work schedule, for obvious safety reasons. If someone leaves business cards or the like is the only time we can give references.

On a happier note, good luck with the little "fella". At least it's finding it's way into capable and caring hands. Just be thankful that it's not getting dumped off on someone else that doesn't care just because it's free and they 'think' they want a gecko right now. ;) You guys are doing a great thing. :main_yes:

Why will it never breed? Good thing you're doing there!

It is a very nice thing that you are doing. The lady at the local pet stores sometimes calls and asks if she can give my number to someone who has a question or has a reptile that needs a home. I think it is very rude that they would just give your number out without calling first and asking you or calling and giving you her number. Best wishes with the new little guy.
