I thought it would be cool if we all got to know what herp got us hooked?

You have to post which animal you first had related to the herp world including all reptiles and amphibians.

My first Reptiles were A columbian white and black tegu and an ornate nile monitor.

we'll see if this catches on.

My very first herp was a Malasian Water Monitor. I only had it for a few months, decided it wasn't for me, they poop A LOT and most of the times they pooped on me :(

My second herp was a Black & White Argentine Tegu too :)

She was pretty big, full grown, maybe 4 feet long, that is a guess though. She died a few years ago unfortunately. I fed her a live small rat and the rat bit her. She lost most of the movement in her front legs. I came home one day and she had drowned in her water bowl. It was a really sad day, she was a great girl.

The first reptile I actually had in my house is my tremper albino leopard gecko. I'd wanted a gecko for a long time but I wanted one that didn't require anything special or cost an arm and a leg. I rescued my beardie pair shortly after I got him and it just escalated from there lol.

I know the feeling I get whatever I can get my hands on. I am 24 and have had over a thousand different animals and I have a 10x10 storage unit full of tanks and stands and miscellaneous items for animals and husbandry equiptment. I will never lose this obsessive battle against the herps. I love it though.

My first herp was a leopard gecko, just a nice normal with a chubby regrown tail. I still have her 4 years later, she's such a chum :)

My first lizard was an Iguana at age 10. It wasn't the best lizard of choice for a kid but they were like $10. After that, I was hooked!

My first Herp was an anole as a young child and I had things like turtles and frogs growing up but what really got me hooked was my first iguana which belonged to my husband when we got together.

a lot of people get hooked or totally dislike the hobby because of the famous green iguana. Still know people that have them and love them and some that can't stand them and will never own another. I have had quite a few in the past and they all have variable personalities. I like them, I really want a fiji banded iguana.
