A passion apart from geckos..

I have always loved to read about other people's passions outside of the gecko world, as it's fun to see what else it is that everyone is into.. I have always thought to myself, "I don't really do anything else" (besides work/school/nothing interesting), so I never really had anything to share..

But this is truly something that I have always had a passion for: cross-stitching. I do not do it all of the time, but have spent many years engaged in the hobby. For those of you that do not know, cross-stitching is merely making a little "x" with string on a piece of fabric, all of which are different colors, to form a pattern. By no means is the pattern something that I created myself, but something that I purchased to use as a reference. I have been working on this piece for my mom because she has always loved dragons/wizards. What I have done has taken me (roughly) six months to do. My friends and family have always asked, "How do you have the patience to do such things?" and my answer is simple: "It calms me down." The piece is roughly 14" x 12".

Very cool! That takes alot of talent and time I bet to do something like that! I LOVE to play guitar. :main_yes: I've been playing for about 4 years now. Here's my guitar, I'm going to try to get another soon.

Rock. I know some AC/DC, Jimi Hendrix, Zepplin, Jet, Green Day, Nirvana, Linkin Park, Leonard Skynard...and I think that's pretty much it for now.
You should buy a guitar a learn sometime. :main_yes: It's kinda discuraging to learn at first but after you start to learn songs it's so awsome. My guitar is a Gibson SG. If I were you, I'd get a Gibson or a Fender. :main_yes:

Mad Dog, Zepplin, Over the Hills and Far Away, Zepplin. When I Come Around, Green Day. Bleed It Out, Linkin Park. Purple Haze, Foxy, Jimi Hendrix. Smells Like Teen Spirit, Nirvana. And I know they're are others but I can't think of them right now, lol.

My other passions then my reptiles are more like small portions of my liveing:

I play poker at a level of where if i had a bad day I could loose more then 400$ a night. Altho i have never lost more then 100$ a night I could easily loose 500+. I try to make 140$ a day if im running bad ill stop even, and come back with a fresh mind.

And then martial arts, I have studied Jiu-Jitsu for the last 13 years of my life and comepte in monthly tournments for money. I have also coatched school wrestling for a few years now, and have done that for 8 years but only for fun. I have also recently started kick boxing, around 3 years ago.

I like reading Japanese manga, and I try to improve my Japanese from there (I no longer take Japanese class). I also spend quite a bit of time on the HK stock market, I only managed to break even this year with the bear market...

That's awesome, I have never played poker for that much, or really for any amount of money because we don't get out much, but have always wanted to. We are pretty big fans of Texas Hold 'Em and love to play

Jiu-Jitsu is awesome too, you must be very disciplined :main_yes: Mike took Muay Thai Kickboxing when he was younger, although his sensei actually passed away before he got to finish and he just hasn't taken anything since.

I have taken a Japanese class and really liked it, although it was a lot of hard work. I hope to one day be able to speak Japanese fluently :main_yes:
