A female gecko can and will ovulate without a male, an in some cases that can lead to her laying infertile eggs, or "duds". There is no positive age or weight that they begin doing this, it is just when they become sexually mature. Most females will just absorb the eggs before they are laid if they don't get fertililized, but sometimes they will lay them. Try to keep her.from seeing or smelling males, and sometimes that can delay a female from ovulating until they are older. Others also say that if your female does start ovulating, you can cool down their tank to make them believe that winter is coming, causing them to 're absorb the eggs or the undeveloped follicles. I hope that this helps answer your questions! :D
