I am not sure what to make of this baby, the egg was laid 6/4/07, incubated at about 83-84 degrees, and hatched last night or early this morning. So, it isn't a premie, but it looks so weird. The parents were a Red Stripe Het Bell x Stripe Het Bell. It is pink and white, the stripe going down it's back is white, the sides are pink, and it has very red eyes.

What do you all think?

Whatever it is, if you don't like it you could always send it to me...? :)

The first thought I had was reverse-stripe, but I don't know.. Make it grow! lol

I say it's a Super Strip Bell.

:main_huh: Seriously that is one odd baby. Obvioulsy it's albino and showing the stripe genes, but it has no yellow in it. I don't follow the Red Stripe projects what-so-ever. So could it be the red stripe coming through to block out any yellow?

The date laid is in the very first sentence in my first post :main_lipsrsealed:

At 83-84 degrees how long does it take before they hatch? I thought at those temps you'd be looking at 50-60 days. In your case it hatched in 30, wouldn't that be considered premature?

OMG! That thing is outrageous!

I think she meant 4/6 and that'd 58 or 59 days so it's definitely not premature... I would consider it about a week late at those temps considering my eggs at 82 generally hatch in 57 days...

Oops! Yeah, I meant 4/6, I'm a little dyslectic today :(

He's really neat. Rev stripe maybe? Any redstripe breeders have any input on this? Has the clutchmate hatched? This is why I love bells-such unpredictability.
