Sorry i have not been here, in.. well many months, but could anyone direct me too a site that proves that wolfs/coyotes live in new jersey? cause thats what my moms boyfriend claims killed his dog. it was a very tiny dog, an, it was very sad. the dog sadly couldn't make it from what one of these supposeable animals did. so if anyone could get me a link, it would be very much appreciated.

I'm so sorry to hear about the poor little dog! How traumatic and sad to lose a beloved pet that way. It could have been coyotes, or even another stray dog that hurt it so bad it couldn't recover.

You can always do a Google search using the keywords "coyotes New Jersey" and see what it comes up with.

Thanks for the link. an yeah, I tried google before I came here. Jus a list of animal state laws came up . The worst part, he has another lil dog, an now he knows its not even safe for him to let his dog out.

There are indeed coyotes in Jersey...as well as black bears...and feral dogs. Any of which could do serious damage to a small dog. Small dogs should NEVER be allowed outside unnattended at any time...heck even a large raccoon could kill a small dog...eagles or hawks could to (and we have tons of red tails in jersey as well as some bald eagles). There are predators that could kill small dogs in pretty much every area of every state.

Well, when they pulled up, it ran in front the car, an count really depict what it was. but when they made it to the front of the garage, they were sacred as anything to get out the car. then, with just of few minutes of the car being in front the house, it darted in front of the parked car. an my mom/boy friend say it seemed to have long mangy hair. Well, right now, there are the 2 difrent teams coming by his area, a few times, seeing if they can spot it, an if they do, they will kill anything that may resemble it (a dog like a Labrador would be fine, there looking for a longer hair, an BIG size, there not like on a rampage). an, mom mys boyfriend has put lot of mean right out side his house, as he has permission to kill it once he sees it.He has guns from hunting,from when he used to hunt.. An he really hopes he does, because his 16 year old daughter lives with him, now shes scared to go outside, i don't blame her.well i guess il google what a feral dog is, never herd of that.

A feral dog runs wild?, on google images, they seem to look like any other dog? guess ill keep looking.

Ok, i see there just free roaming dogs. And since his lives with seven acres or land, an a neighbor with 21 acres of woods. what would u say the probability of it being a coyote was? Cause i cant see that many wild dogs in the area.though i could completly wrong.
