A week after our vet trip

I took Sparky our Leopard Gecko to the vet a week ago because he stopped eating for a week and I was concerned. They took a fecal sample and it came back okay, they said his mouth was a bit red so they gave me a liquid antibiotic to give for 5 days and a poweder form meal supplement to mix with water and feed him one vial a few times a day. He would not open his mouth for me at all so whatever I dropped on his nose and he licked is what he got. He was on sand for the past year and that is what he was on before I got him for about 2 years. After the trip to the vet I put paper towel over his sand to get him off it because an xray they did showed two little spots that she said could be impaction. So far he has not gone to the bathroom since last Tues and I have been trying to give him crickets and meal worms and he has no interest. I am worried he is not getting enough to eat with this food supplement and I cant fee him like this forever.. Any ideas? I have been giving him a 5 min warm bath every other day like the vet said, he was in his moist hide all last night and this morning... He may be getting ready to shed since he looked kind of white yesterday.. Thanks.

I am sorry to hear your gecko isnt doing well.
I would get rid of the sand... if it is impaction then the only thing I know is giving him baths.

Thanks...... I took most of it out but kept about a quarter inch but did put paper towel over all of it so he cannot get to it. I have been trying the warm baths but he refuses to sit still in it so how can it benefit him. I did read you can put a drop of vegetable oil on his nose and let him lick it, and I let him out alot so he keeps moving around and does not sit still alot...

Use a container like a critter keeper with a lid. They might be trying to get out, but are still in the water.

Sparky's still not eating, but he did shed yesterday and ate his skin, so I guess that is a good sign. Now he probably wont be hungry from that.....

Update, sparky finally went to the bathroom. after 9 days of not going. Here is the strange part. A week ago Tuesday after my vet trip I layed paper towel over all of his san substrate since he seemed to have a little impaction, I wanted to do the right thing and get him off of it. He did not go to the bathroom since that day. So last night I was thinging, I know they say they stress out when you rearrange or change their settings, and i thought maybe he does not like the paper towel stuff. So I removed one piece of it on the one side and low and behold, I woke up this morning and there he went. Very strange... I hope he does not do this when I put the ceramic tile in.... Any ideas.
