This is a tough one. Some animals can calm down after breeding, some can get more psycho. I have seen it go both ways with dogs. A hostile unsocial female that turns all sweet and loving after being bred, DEF. see this with rabbits... I have several that wer pissy biters before they were bred (acting that way because the WANTED to be bred) and after their first breeding calmed down and are now the sweetest things. I'm not sure it works the same with leos since they are so much more primitive than mammals but...

What I would be worried about is a couple things... first like you mentioned damage to either leo from her skittish nature, and the dropped tails, but the other thing I would worry about is that the offspring would be like momma. You really want to breed the best temperaments imo as well as the best colors. One with out the other is an incomplete package. Hopefully leos are like rabbits and just act like asses because they want bred :) hopefully some one else that actually breeds leos will be able to give you more difinitive advice.

I have 2 leos that are skittish like yours. At least in my experience and thats all i can go by is once I put them in and as long as they are ovulating they should be fine.I physically watch them for 15 mins to make sure they get along.Mine settle down once they are with the male.U do what u think is right with your animals.
