hi we adopted a gecko from a family that no longer wanted it. they said it is an African fat tailed but looking at pictured on google i think it might be a leopard gecko. as i am a complete novice it the gecko area any help wolf be appreciated
Yeah its definitely a leopard gecko. There's loads of info on the net about them. the main thing is make sure it's temperature and humidity is correct and get the right food! They are fun little creatures! Enjoy!
at the pet store we asked about food for a African fat tail. they said crickets are the primary diet with occasional meal worms. would this be the same for leopard geckos? I've read they are a lot in common. i am going to Google it also but i would love to hear from people that have them and know their likes and dislikes. thanks
Many keepers feed their leopard geckos mealworm, superworm, dubia roach staple diets. Some feed crickets. Fat tails are mainly cricket eaters, tho some have converted them from that to other feeders. Crickets have issues that some folks don't like. Any feeders can and should be dusted with supplemental vitamins and minerals.
