I did a quick search for this issue and found a lot of threads specific to baby leos, and I didn't think that quite applied to my situation. I have a full grown leo (I've had him since 2003 I think, from Golden Gate Geckos, actually). His name is Noodles!
A quick history of what has been going on:
Last year one of my geckos had a horrible experience where shed skin got attached to his eye and, when I tried to remove it (not knowing at the time that it was attached), it caused a horrible lesion in his eye. There was blood, took him to the vet, the eye didn't have to get removed, and since that time we've had minor eye issues. End of last year, he had an ulcer that we managed to treat and now he has an edema (sp?). That's what's going on.
So, the last two times he's eaten, one just prior to taking him to the vet for the edema, and then yesterday, when he decided to eat what was already in his bowl, he has thrown up what he's eaten. I suspect this is entirely due to stress, what with vets poking him and now me poking him to put meds in his eye and so on, but I want to know if there is anything I can do to reduce the stress or if there are any other issues that might be exacerbating the stress.
I have him in a large rubbermaid w/ under tank heat (85-89 or so; I just turned it up a little, because it seemed too cold for him). He has a little tupperware thing with moss inside that I spray once a week or so, bowl for water, and a bowl for food. The moist hide leaves room for him to get right onto the heat if he doesn't want to be inside (which he does a lot). He's fed meals worms, and recently wax worms as a treat. His weight is up since the last time he was seen by the vet (about 6 grams, apparently).
So, if I'm doing something terribly wrong, please let me know. If it's just because of all the crap happening to him, then that alleviates some of my concern. He did defecate last night, but it seemed like primarily the urates and not much in terms of the black bits, which makes sense since his last two feedings haven't gone well.
